John T. Cobb, M.D. is an ophthalmologist who has worked with Thomas Eye Group since 1982. He practices general ophthalmology with a specialty in small incision “no-stitch” cataract surgery and medical treatment of glaucoma.
Dr. Cobb earned a bachelor’s degree at Emory University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. A graduate of the medical school at Vanderbilt University, Dr. Cobb served as an ophthalmology resident at Emory University and Grady Memorial Hospital. He interned at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. |
Dr. Cobb is a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He served for over ten years as the Ophthalmology Section Chief at Northside Hospital.
Dr. Cobb is married with one son. His hobbies include running, hiking, climbing and growing orchids. He has participated in the Peachtree Road Race since 1981. Recently he has pursued mountaineering in the Grand Teton, the North Cascades National Parks and the Swiss Alps. |
